Sock Innovation KAL

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

So I’m currently doing a KAL with Karma Yarn Swap on Ravelry. I was going to do Rick in Wollmeise, because those are the socks I want to do for myself. However, I have several commissioned knitting projects and just don’t have time right now. I am doing a pair of Kai Mei in HuggyBear Huggaboo sock yarn for a woman on Rav. They are turning out beautifully. I’m about 3.5 inches into both cuffs so far. I’m knitting about 10 rows per hour.

Anyway, the sock pattern is rather boring. Ribbing is boring. I am so ready to be done with these socks!! I am also currently in the process of making a pair of Wanida socks, and they are sooo much more interesting. I don’t think I’ll move on to Rick next. I am seriously considering moving on to Cookie A.’s Twisted Flower Sock with Wollmeise.

This skein to be exact:

If you have done socks from Sock Innovation – what’s your favorite?

A theory…

With my blog being totally revamped, it’s most certain that I’ll want to post more often!! I love the new layout of the blog and I hope to post at least 3 times a week. Plus, I’m looking into interviewing dyers, designers, and other knitting gurus, so that you can enjoy something other than my drab talking.

So, what’s this you might ask? It’s a shawl in progress. It’s an Ishbel to be exact. I am hoping to knit 10 shawls in 2010 and this is number 2. Well on my way I might add.

Here’s the first:

That’s a traveling woman. It’s beautiful!! I love knitting lace because it seems so magical when it is blocked and turns into something transformed!

I’m also going to attempt to knit all of the socks in Sock Innovation by Cookie A. in one year. I’ll let you know next April whether or not I make it or not ;) .

So, who would you like to see featured on my blog?
